Edinburgh Feminist Freeschool

17-24th April

A week of free workshops, discussion spaces, film screenings and music.

Most spaces are clustered around the weekend 17th-19th. The timetable includes improv dance, basic massage, yoga and self-defense classes, discussion spaces about colonialism, women and the middle east, polyamoury, homeschooling and much more.

Workshops on the saturday 18th are from 10-6 at Lochend YWCA. spaces at this venue will be women/ trans only.

Workshops on the sunday 19th are at the forest cafe and are mixed spaces apart from one during the day.

Film screenings and music are also mixed spaces and take place at The autonomous centre of edinburgh and the forest cafe.

There will be a volunteer supervised kids space and cafe all day at each venue. As well as a book, zine and info stall…

Welcome to the Edinburgh Feminist Freeschool website.  You can find out more about the exciting events currently organised by using the calendar to check out confirmed workshops and discussions.

Please let us know if you would like to run a workshop or facilitate a discussion.  Saturday 17th April will be a women and trans only space.  If you do not identify as the above, you are of course welcome to run a workshop, but please be aware that it will be organised for Sunday 18th April.

If you would like to get involved in organising, we will shortly be posting an e-mail list which you can add yourself on to.  This will keep you up to date with our meeting times and decision making.  Please note that we are a women and trans only organising collective.

We are nice and friendly and like meeting new people.  Even if you don’t feel you have any skills to share at the event, your help with organising in many ways will be a great asset to the freeschool as a whole.  Don’t be scared of getting involved!
